I got into RJC♥

Thursday, January 29, 2009, 1/29/2009 10:48:00 PM
Covering random people's shifts for the past two days made me work for significantly longer hours, but I am not saying it's a bad thing.

My 11hours at northpoint was undoubtedly really, really, busy. However, I don't regret going there because the staff were really nice & welcoming, plus it's pretty near my house (:

You may ask why my post is this short esp when I should be happy after getting my pay slip.

I think my pay is creditted wrongly, how irritating.
& to get my mind off this, I think I should play viwawa now(:

Anyway lovelove Magaret! :D
Thanks for taking over my shift tomorrow though you're pretty busy yourself(:

Chinese New Year 2009 did not exactly feel like CNY.
Yes, I did get to see my cousins, & I did get to play some mahjong
But I was generally not into the CNY mood, & this is sad :x

There is a pun.

&drina: EVE EVE EVE. today is CNY EVE.
Evelyn♥: WHATTTT -.- LOL

HAPPY CNY :D

Tagged from Xinyi's blog, I shan't pass it on since she didn't list the names in the end (:

I am supposed to post 16 random facts habits goals about me. I remember posting 10random facts after getting tagged on Abel's blog & of which , 8 are still relevant. Hence I shall copy & paste 8 of them & add another 8. :D If you can figure out which are the already irrelevant ones then good, but I have no archives cause I've no idea how to get them there :x

1. I don't believe in following trends, start your own if you can.
2. Love to talk, but I actually think a lot more when I don't.
3. I am used to having a packed schedule, because I don't like to feel wasted.
4. I really, really appreciate good food :)
5. As much as I am not a homely person, I do care a lot for my family.
6. It's normal to have bitch fits but I dislike people who whine continuously.
7. Contrary to popular belief, I AM NOT ANOREXIC.
8. I love holidays, farmstays, beachsuits.
9. Believe in practising what you preach, & I really appreciate it if you're like that.
10. If I don't argue about something, it doesn't always mean that I am wrong in the incident. It probably means that I don't see it as a significant issue or don't see the meaning in doing so.
11. I think CSE is a cool subject.
12. Vintage Monochrome Bohemian stuff are pretty awesome.
13. I have this idea to join fashion designing
14. I've decided to switch from triple science to triple arts (:
15. When I am not in a good mood, I'll make a friends only lj post.
16. I believe guys & girls can be purely be good friends.

In making decisions..
Wednesday, January 21, 2009, 1/21/2009 08:03:00 PM
When we're in a dilemma, what actually drives us to eventually choose something over another?
Would you choose something you truly like or would you choose something that you think you'll excel in(more like what people say you'll excel in) ? Of course if you have both, good for you! But sadly that's not always the case.
Considering this in the selection of subject combinations, I think many things are easier said than done. Honestly, I am still stuck at one question. I cannot make up my mind what subjects to take. I actually have a million and one thoughts to post but I am just not in the mood.
On a final note, when people tell you something & ask of you to keep it to yourself, please try your best to do so. In my opinion, it doesn't really matter if all you did was to tell one person or ten people. Not only is it a trust that has been broken, but also lots of mess that the person would have to clear up thereafter.
& yes, implications usually last much longer than the incident does.

The photos are dark because I forgot to use the flash :x
I went back to for debate for the first time this year, well also the first time since ROD. I found it pretty heartwarming to be back because there are people who really understand and accept me for who I am(& yup, people that wholeheartedly support and agree with me going into the arts).

Nevertheless, I am still very much disppointed that the size of the club has shrunk significantly & to some extent it was also the doings of _, & I don't understand where she is coming from ):

Conclusion, my day did start of well with 5rounds of bowling and some strikes with aunty hoon, fabulous lunch with grandma, back with some debaters & a nice dinner with parents.. & I shan't mention things after that.

Not exactly in the best of moods today so I decided to put this scholarhsip application on hold (till tomorrow when I shall crack my brains for it with KevinL) & leave the admin work & case read up till TOMORROW.
You may think it's procastination but my brain has already shut down :x

{edit}
ANDRINA! CONGRATS ON GETTING YOUR JOB! :D

On another note, I figured out one reason I am slightly irritated now.
I selected schools, streams, attemped scholarships w/o knowing what most of the stuff is about.
I haven't really came to a decision what subjects I wanna put, because literature is this one compulsory thing for HP :x
I highlighted over 8/9 ccas & countless random programmes still, nothing is happening.

{/edit}

Jowell! I want our before & after pictures including Eunice! :D
IanAng!
YongWei!

SBM Orientation at Sentosa!

I don't think the number of people in this photo is representative of the total number of people there but still, I guess it's more important that we had fun & got to know each other better! & yes I got tan all over again with newfound tan lines :x

Note to all, esp SBMY people that I've asked: Adidas Sundown Marathon has a minimum age limit of 18years ): This means that I can't join, including Andrina Aaron Cherise Tessa Yongwei etc):
Disappointed? Somewhat, of course. Brighter side? We're out looking for other events! :D

PS: I think I messed up the settings of my Windows Live Messenger. I cannot type messages to contacts that are appearing offline or are offline, although I can read those that they send me. Since I can't leave offline messages, I'll try to reply via email or sms or asap when I see you online :D
If you know how to change this setting/problem please let me know thanks!

First of all, special thanks to all for the congrats, well wishes and advises on which school I should apply for! Thanks & loves!

Through countless hours of thinking in the wee hours of the night, when all is silent and when trains do not run along the rail outside my house, I finally submitted my choices for Arts stream in a couple of schools.

At this moment, most people who be thinking that since I am going from triple science to triple arts, I am...
1) Screwed, cause I'll lose out to the people with arts background
2) Weird, cause I am minimising my uni/career options
3) Stupid, cause most people think science is easier to score.

However, more importantly, I see the need for me to have the courage to pursue something I can find meaning in and put a stop to my current life {getting stuck in some weird combi for two years because I chose what my friends thought was good}. That said, I have no regrets going to 409 nevertheless (:

409 chalet was not bad! (: Despite the many hiccups right from the start, when we almost couldn't check in because Amanda didn't have her brother's identification card with her, I guess most of us had fun!. Thanks Daddy btw! & I FINALLY KNOW HOW TO PLAY MAHJONG!

Sometimes I too need my quiet moments, sometimes I too need small talks & funny ones too, sometimes I too feel the necessity to get a life.

&I'll especially like to thank these people to brightening up my week:
~Andrina: Shopping Trips! & thanks for helping me look out for things on my wishlist! (:
~Berton: For helping me to search for adjudication opportunities & courses. (:
~EugeneLua: Small talks & for entertaining my drink requests & helping with closing(:
~KevinLeung: Future Course/Schoolmate! For crashing open houses &listening to random lecturers about unpopular but nevertheless cool subjects. (:
~Nick: For feeding Hatchlings & for buying me a movie (:
& many more. like 409 for making chalet great!
{edit} Nick gave me this crazy idea of running in Adidas Sundown Marathon(team event, may 2009) & now I am quite on to it :D Although I have never ever looked forward to or tried something like that I thought it would be nice to try it(: Let me know if you wanna run together{/edit}

Daily Scoopz & Ice Cream with brownies is the saviour of the day! :D

Growing fat & dying together
IanChoi says: "Hello! I am Baberella! :D"
409 Fabulous people(;
& even more of us :D

I dont know if it was a coincidence but our class prom photo was frozen on the photo montage in the school hall for quite sometime, but it probably means that 409 is awesome :D

Congratulations to Jocelyn Yeo for getting 10A1s & lots of press attention HAHAHA
Congratulations to Nigel & WanEr for getting 9 Distinctions, you've done 409 proud too!

But most importantly, I think most people in 409 did well, whether or not it met our expectations, & hopefully we'll all be able to move on to somewhere awesome [Although we already rock now] :D

After hanging up the phone & ending 8msn conversions that were going on simultaneously, I actually decided on all my 12 choices within 30seconds of looking at the book.
The major problem now is that I do not know which order to put it in.
But in any case it's veryvery likely that I'll be submitting it tomorrow night since we'll mostly be preoccupied with 409 chalet! :D

PS: Rachel, please say you are coming thanks! We need to buy food :D

That said I realised that I've not put up my results yet -.-

7A1s 1A2 1B4,
L1R5 = 6points {minus 4, becomes 2points}
L1R4 = 5 { idk how to minus}
I would really like to thank the people who actually cared, called to ask about results, and schools I would like to go to, all the well wishes and most importantly all the people that stood by me through thick and thin, admist all those late night and library mugging sessions. You really made a difference in my life(:

& So I would list the people who texted/msned/called/spoke to me today {ref previous post for yesterday}: 409 Xinyi(s) Mabel Wanling Madeline Adelaine YuNian Clarence Hangqi YiJie Nick ZeMing RaymondTham CherngShing 409teachers YingZhu Clara IanAng NHDebaters KevinLeung Jowell VictorTan TanJiaJin ShiXiong Cherise MeiYi YongWei John Mervin KaiBin ChaoHsien EugeneLim Lam Wendy Samantha. Loved.

I am glad & satisfied :D
{& If you are still guessing, the B4 is for HCL}

I am actually quite sad that I wont be able to visit the rest of the open houses ( of which one is going to be among my top 3 choices) since no one can cover my work tmr :x But on the bright side, Samantha and EugeneLua are working tomorrow.

Monday, January 12, 2009, 1/12/2009 12:47:00 AM
Thus far, I think my holidays have been pretty packed.
My weekly routine has been revolving around work, outings and openhouses only.

I shan't post about open houses since I've got no pictures (:
I have been increasing in weight after working in Bakerzin & it's not a good thing because it means that I'll qualify for blood donation Haha.

Anyway thanks to all the well wishes for release of Olevel results, to name a few, YingZhu, Clarence, UE people, YongWei, JoelLim, Jeremy, Andrina etc (:
I hope that I won't be disppointed tomorrow, but I think I would :x

Friday, January 09, 2009, 1/09/2009 01:32:00 AM

Sadly, pictures of the picnic are in Yanling's & JudithAng's cameras so I don't have our photos:x

I was supposed to meet 409 people at Botanic Gardens at 10am, but that was the time I woke up, since I only slept at 4am. Trained cabbed walked & made my way there in time to join their games, to read my book, to camwhore & transfer songs to my phone before I left for shopping!

Combed FarEastPlaza with Andrina, though we actually made a detour to Bishan for the Scouts Venture uniform(: I realised many shops in FarEast have taken on a new look to move on to selling imported apparels, unlike in the past. Though it's true that some pieces are unique and are made of good material, in a few shops, the prices are absurd.

About a month ago when I was in Thailand, I visited Platinum, one of the shopping malls cum wholesale center & found many pretty pieces at great prices. Today I saw quite a number of these pieces in FarEastPlaza going for approx 3 times the price. If thailand isn't having that many arson cases and riots I would already be in there now :x
All in all, two dresses two belts :D
Had dinner & Played pool at Parklane before going home.
Popping by to CJC AJC NYP Open Houses tomorrow, or rather in a few hours time.

I think IanAng is funny.

Evelyn♥ says: Join library club!
iAnG says: The library woman hates me. She always finds me in some corner sleeping & tells me that I am wasting space.

NYJC IMMERSION PROGRAMME ALEX 3
Wednesday, January 07, 2009, 1/07/2009 11:29:00 PM
& where is the "public" ? :D:D:D
People from NanChiau!
Celest! Tuitionmate!
Jeremy(: I forgot to take photos with Amanda :x

& This was my group for the day(:
Not in any order, they are Amanda Jeremy Madeline Sebastian April SeokTeng ShuYi Haena BeiEr Erica YingThong KerSim Me(:

The immersion programme was not an ultra enthusiastic camp but something to allow us to understand more about the JC cirriculum and understand more about the school. GP lecture was fine but maths was disasterous. It's probably just that I am not a fan of math lessons cause Madeline thought it went pretty well. :O
I was very much impressed by the facilities in NYJC for I felt it was much better than most of the other JCs I've visited. But what made me actually consider the school was that I felt that the people there were real, not pretentious hypocrites that practically flood the streets. They weren't elitists{at least those that I met} either, but it doesn't mean that they don't mug.
Enough said, visit their open house yourself(:
& the reason why I am not going for the next two days of the immersion programme is not because it is boring, but rather I think I've seen what NYJC has to offer & am pretty convinced that it's a good school, with clear directions planned. Hence, time would be more wisely spent visiting other open houses. But, tomorrow will be a short break first(:

Tuesday, January 06, 2009, 1/06/2009 10:19:00 PM
My room packing status is stagnant.
NickTan, All the best zoomzooming through projects! MovieMovieMoviee! (:
I have this random enthusiasm about watching Ponyo & I am starting to regret not watching it with SBMY people the other day :x

Sidetrack: Does anyone want to work at Bakerzin(UE Sqaure) for at least 6months? (:
& Clarence, Hope you enjoy working!

I am supposed to meet Madeline at 7.20am tomorrow, which I think is really early.
All in all, I am glad that it's at my house & that her dad is driving us to nyjc.
Immersion programm that is, well, I am somewhat interested since I figured out that I would probably not turn up for their open house & it's also one of the schools that I am clueless about.

I see a line of OpenHouses coming up but I also see the lack of time to visit all of them :x

{editing}

Cheryl L, 夏希 says: I just found my pink form in my foolscap paper & jingwei filled it in. Apparently the reason says: "too much homework at door, car cannot drive out"

Cheryl L, 夏希 says: We recorded down our codes to find books(Alevel) tmr. Going to mug with Jocelyn & IanChoi. {But nigel has started way back already?}

These are my classmates.

Saturday, January 03, 2009, 1/03/2009 01:04:00 AM
I didn't go to school!

That's because I woke up at 730am
& Debate was cancelled
& EugeneLua was sick {Didn't come to work so I took over}
&it boils down to the fact that I am also lazy.

But this doesn't mean that I don't love 409 (: Glad you guys were happy crashing!

Anyway EugeneLua Please get well soon, cause if I continue working 12.5hours, I'll soon be the one taking mcs Hahaha.
& Now I am having this massive muscle ache on my left hand
But I have Facilitators training tmr :x

HAPPY BIRTHDAY IRENE CHEAH! (:
