Vesak@Orchard is finally over.It was a very memorable experience as well as a enriching process throughout the 2 long days. There were a few hiccups though but htat made us learn even more.I Didn't really help in the prep work though cus NDP ended late and hence there wasn't much time left to be there.

It started off early on a rainy sat morning, however, this did not dampen our mood! SBMYouths were in a seperate tent from the main one, hence jowell and i could not find our way.Nevertheless, it was a good view of the stage performance and really close to 7eleven too! As it was raining, some tees got wet.Fortunately, they were dryfit which made the drying work easier:) the tee was NICE! there were 2 versions, the black and the white. Both are equally translucent though.hahas.

We got enthusiastic and started practising formations and various cheers. Before long,Our President Nathan and his wife came.Took pics with them and KymNg, the lady compassion of this event.

We walked once around orchard before blading another round. Our route went from NgeeAnnCity to Forum, to FarEastPlaza, to Orchard Emerald and then back to NgeeAnnCity again. We carried BIG placards and had balloons tied on us.Some lil kids even came up to ask us for them.hahas.We did cheers and songs along the wayto lighten up the mood and also attract people attention to read our placards. Some did, while other didn't really know what we were doing. One flaw i think, would be that we are walking too closely to each other so as not to get lost, but as a result, others cant read what we have for them.A suggestion i have, which im not sure is good, would be that we split into smaller groups of arnd 10 people and go around orhard separately. We would also not walk in straight lines so people can read our placards too.Considering the number of people there, there may be 6 groups or so and hence there would be a lack of people leading us.Nevertheless, i think this time we still did quite a good job.Attacted ALOT of attention :) At least they know buddhists are not boring :D Everyone did a good job though some bladers fell, some went out of place [OOPS! i think im one of those:P] and others went sian.. Mainly due to the lack of practice.Hm..next year we shall practise earlier:)
We also supported the dance and rap team which gave great performances.Cheered and clapped for them.It is the hardwork that they put in which brought us these good shows :)

We went again TODAY, which is sunday. As the day suggests, there was SUN, a lot of it.i was late though.Overslept cus i was tired.Everyone's tired though most of their are more tired than me.After all, the friends whom i thot may come down to give us support, did not come.it's okay though :) SBMY lil family will still cheer for each other :) Tried out once before many people came.To my BIG surprise, i saw nick.WOW.didn't expect that we would be here and furthermore that he is involved in the million lotus project too! hahas. Both of us didn't know that each other are involved.AND they are also having their midyears too, hence it was rather unexpected.Of course, i was really happy:) Apart from letting our friends learn the dharma, somehow, it is also the support from them which makes us strive even harder.

The walk around orchard was almost the same as the day before but the route became longer. Rather glad that i didn't fall on both days.*buddha's blesses* cus i only started practicing since last month, furthermore it would usually be arnd once or twice a week with minimal hours.

The closing ceremony was solemn.Leaders from the 10 main religions gave a blessing to the world in hope of peace and harmony. We ended the day by setting off a bunch of balloons after making our aspirations.

The whole celebrtion was much of a success. Just as one of the placards says "Even if you lose, you don't lose the lesson" Every experience is a lesson learnt.(eg.Falling down makes us more aware of what to do in the same situation.) It might not have been flawless but it really great.Big thanks to the organisers as well as every SBMY-ian.Many new friendships were gained and New things learnt.

`really sorry chrysan; i accidentally scratched your blades a bit, i keep it as clean as possible and return it to you.Maybe it is time i get my own.hahas.
`really big thanks to the blading team for accepting me though my skills aint good.I will practice hard for the next vesak.
`really appreciative that nick was actually here though i wasn't the one who got him here.hahas.
`really big thanks to marc for teaching me how to blade better and catching me BEFORE i fall and helping for the slopes and stuff like that.
`really thanks to everyone lar. x)

Everyone takkaire :)
