SBMY-ians went to do some voluntary work @ renci today. Most of the patients staying in there are caught up with long-term illness.Some are suffering from stroke after accidents and many others have depression.Rather sad to see them in this state, but on the other hand, I think they are considered to be quite fortunate as at least they are in singapore, a country which isn't too poor and also filled with many kind souls to take care of them. If they were in some poorer country in which everyone do not even have enough for themselves, where would they be able to get the treatment from doctors and care from the society?
I was a lil afraid in the beginnning as
-this is the first time visiting a home for the elderly.don't know what to do.
-can't speak dialect.Communication problems.
-the first guy i went to was rather reluctant to accept our lil gifts so felt a lil extra.

But after a while i felt better and started to go arnd talking to the folks.Most of them were quite friendly and chatted with us in simple mandarin/english.A very enriching experience for me today, to see the less fortunate people in the society and also appreciate the things i have now :)

Took some photos;
